Ötzi Bike Academy – biking fun guaranteed!

After one year of working together with the Ötzi Bike Academy, the results have proved positive. Guests were extremely impressed with the variety and beauty of the guided bike tours.
This year, the Ötzi Bike Academy has put together another fantastic program for our bike-loving friends.

What do we offer our bike guests?

  • 10 x weekly personal guided mountain bike tours with our qualified bike guides along the transalpine route (each of about 3-4 hours) in two groups according to ability. Price per tour € 17
  • 2 x free pleasure tours on bike per week through our orchards and vineyards with personal guide € 5
  • Get-together for bikers with programme introduction and discussion of tours, levels of difficulty, altitude differences, distances, weather and sights
  • Free hire of city bikes and simple mountain bikes
  • Brand new mountain bikes LEE COUGAN(Fully). Daily rental € 10
  • Locked room for bikes with assembly stands and repair corner, as well as a cleaning facility for your bike
  • Heart rate and calorie usage monitors
  • Biker catering with power snacks and energy drinks
  • Bikers’ corner with comprehensive information and tour routes as well as maps at reception

Cycle and mountain bike tours

  • Naturns-Plaus-Rabland
    (15 km - 1 hour - category easy)    :
    Take the Bahnhofstrasse from the centre of Naturns and turn towards Plaus just before the Etsch Bridge then along the cycle path following the river to Plaus and on to Rabland. Take the Wiesenweg (path through the fields) there from the cable car station back to Plaus and either the Hilbweg or the Dornsbergweg back to Naturns.
  • Plaus-Naturns-Staben-Tschars-Kastelbell
    (20 km - 2 hours - difference in altitude ca 150 m)    :
    Starting from the Plaus parish church, cycle along the Bahnhofstrasse, cross the Etsch bridge and follow the left side of the Etsch to Naturns. Cross the bridge then turn right into the Dammstrasse past the ruins of St. Lorenzen to reach Staben. Then turn left (approx. 150 mt.) and right to Tschars/Kastelbell, cross the river Etsch there and cycle along the river's left bank to Tschars, Staben, Tschirland and Zollwies (Sports Centre). Turn left (approx. 300 mt.) and then right over the Dornsberg path past Dornsberg Castle to get back to Plaus.

Mountain bike Tours

  • Naturns-Naturnser Alm-Vigiljoch-Aschbach-Töll
    (44 km - 4,5 hours - difference in altitude 1500 m)    :
    Take the Bahnhofstrasse from Naturns and then the Bergstrasse up the Norderberg as far as the last farm houses where the forestry road to the Naturnser Alm begins. Cycle up path 9a which turns to the right behind the Alm. Please note that path 30 is not recommended! A short climb leads to an old cart path along the high plateau till you get to where you cross over path no 9. Stay on the same path to Vigljoch then downwards to Aschbach either on path no 28 or along the forestry road further along. Then take the asphalt road to Toll and the cycle path back to Naturns.
